Description

Original Caption: "General view of the daily lineup of applicants for farm work in the United States, as they assemble each morning at the Migratory Station in Monterrey, Mexico--one of the several reception centers, Mexico for processing braceros. Until they are accepted for employment, these men must pay for their own food and transportation to the camp. Small hut in the background serves as the sole lavatory of the 5,000 men per day who pass through the camp." Mexican laborers, mobilized in Monterrey for farm jobs, are more an issue; U.S. workers see them as a threat to job security. (Business Week, September 24, 1960, p.51)
